Season update... July 2008 Chris of year 9, has gone through a rapid learning curve in the first half of this season after signing to drive with Strawberry Racing for a second successive year in the 'British Junior Super One Championship' for ages 12 to 16 year olds, he was approached to drive with 'The Junior Tony Kart Race Team', a works team in Europe. This was a totally new experience for Chris, who was immediately entered for the 'European Winter Cup' in Italy at half term in February, the 'WSK Championship' and the ' European Championships'. Chris soon learned that he had to step up his fitness, strength and concentration when on his first encounter in Europe in 'The Winter Cup' in which there was nearly 100 drivers from all over the world, he failed fo9r the first time for nearly nine months to make the final. Since then, he has competed in 3 rounds of 'The WSK Championship; in which 96 of the top drivers from all over the world compete, coming from 16 different countries including Japan, Russia, Dominican Republic and the USA. They go through a series of timed qualifiers and heats to find the best 32 drivers who then compete in a pre0final and final. Out of the 3 rounds to date, Chris made the finals on two occasions and only missed out on the other occasions by four places. In 'The British Super One Championship' after a good start at Wigan, where Chris had 6th in the final, his home circuit at Lincoln, saw his downfall, after being involved in a couple of racing incidents, he just managed to qualify for the final, only to get a flat tyre on the first corner and finish 25th. in the next round in Cumbria, Chris battled through from 19th on the grid in the final to finish 7th. Over the summer holidays Chris will compete in Spain in 'The European Championship Qualifiers, before going onto the next round of  'The WSK' in Italy, two rounds of 'The British Super One' at Larkhall in Scotland, and one in Northampton, and if he makes the top twenty of his European Qualifier, the European Finals.
