WSK Race Report, 1st Round, Southern Italy
19 March 2008

Last weekend saw the 1st round of the “WSK” in La Conca, Southern Italy, in which Chris Swanwick 14 of Dagfa House School in Beeston was competing again 95 of the best drivers from all over the world between the ages of 13 and 16.

With only 34 making the finals on Sunday afternoon, and the competition being some of the best drivers in the world, after timed qualifying and 4 heats Chris left himself needing to finish 6th or higher in his last race to make the finals, in an enthralling race with 4th to 8th places continually changing Chris managed to cross the line just in front of Hoshino Koui from Japan to take 6th place in front of a crowd of several thousand spectators and over the duration of 32 laps of high drama, Chris battled his way through from 34th on the grid to finish 21st just in front of Del Rio Adrian of Spain.

Chris now goes to Wigan next weekend to compete in the British “O” plate, before going to Angerville in France for round 2 of the “WSK” at the beginning of April.
