King Of Karts
Chris Swanwick,11, of Greasley, produced an excellent performance
in the Cock O' the North kart meeting, finishing fifth in the Mini
Max Final despite being two years younger than some rivals!
Chris's Italian Job
Chris Swanwick from Greasley, competed in the invitation-only
Bridgestone Cup in Lake Garda, Italy. The 13 year old received his
invite after his strong performance in his first race in Europe
the previous weekend in Parma, Italy, where he competed against 52
other youngsters from 14 countries in the Constructors Championship.
Swanwick finished 14th in the 28-lap race that saw only two
seconds separate the eight driver from 16th. he now returns to
compete in the KF3 Winter series in readiness for the British
Super One and World karting Series next year.
Chris seals top 15
Greasley's Chris Swanwick, 13, came up against some of the top
racers in Europe in the sixth and final round of the |British
Super One for JICA Karts in Devon. Swanwick, in his first years at
this level, needed a top-20 finish to cement his position of 15th
in the championship. after struggling in the heats, he managed to
finish 14th in the final. he now heads off to Parma, Italy, in the
Constructors Championship for his first race in Europe. He will
also compete in the Winter Series which begins in November.
